Brandon's Beach located along the Spring Garden Highway is a beautiful expanse of white sandy beach, which stretches out to the calm Caribbean Sea. The shades of colour in the water are breathtaking varying from dark blue, light blue, turquoise to clear.

Dover Beach

Home Of Pan In De Future Tense
Rehabilitation work on this facility began in September 2004 and was completed in November 2005. The development includes new beach facilities, food and vending kiosks, a timber boardwalk, lighting and hard and soft landscape works. It was completed at a cost $2.6 million.


 

Ermy Bourne Highway

Home of The Mount Gay/ Cable & Wireless Party Monarch Finals

In 1966 HM Queen Elizabeth II opened Barclays Park in honor of Barbados' independence. Barclays Park overlooks the beautiful Bathsheba area also known as the soup bowl. Barclays Park is very popular for family picnics and lazy afternoons especially on weekends and holidays. This year is the 14th straight year the Party Monarch finals have been held at the park on the Ermy Bourne Highway.


 

Frank Collymore Hall

Home Of The Crop Over Folk Concert
The hall is a state of the art theatre designed for Barbadians and visitors to enjoy the arts in the heart of the capital Bridgetown. This technically advanced theatre has excellent acoustics, lighting, recording facilities and a full range of multi-media capabilities, including professional quality recording of events and concerts. It seats 491 and is therefore one of the largest venues for Theatre in Barbados.

Grand Salle, Central Bank

The Grande Salle is essentially an air-conditioned exhibition and meeting area, situated in the Tom Adams Financial Complex. It is used primarily for exhibitions and art showings as well as meetings.
 
The Grande Salle is 61 ft x 29 ft and comes equipped with 5 large screens (6 ft x 8 ft) and 11 smaller screens (6 ft x 6 ft). Accent lighting and a portable podium are also available.

 

Independence Square

Home Of Pan In De City
This area, which for many years was used as a parking lot, has been developed as a civic square and gardens where Barbadians and visitors can linger among trees and gardens in the shadow of the first Prime Minister of Barbados, National Hero and Father of Barbados' independence, The Right Excellent Errol Walton Barrow. The square was opened in 2007 and reportedly cost $5 million to refurbish.


 

Jubilee Gardens

Home Of Pan In De City
The new improved Jubilee Gardens located in lower Bridgetown was officially opened in 2006. A new hard and soft landscaped plaza, the construction of a fountain and improvements to St. Mary's Anglican Church, formed part of the redevelopment.

Kensington Oval

Kensington Oval is Barbados' oldest cricket ground, having been established in 1882 when Pickwick Cricket Club leased 4 acres of pasture land from the Kensington Plantation and started to develop it as a cricket ground with a clubhouse. In 1914, the Barbados Cricket Committee, the forerunner of the current Barbados Cricket Association (BCA), bought the Oval but continued to allow Pickwick to lease the ground until 2004. With significant investment from the BCA, the ground was expanded and upgraded over the years and by 2004 had grown to just over 7 acres.

Oistins Bay Garden

Home Of Pan In Bay Gardens
Small business people who ply their various trades at Oistins Bay Garden, Christ Church, now have new, improved facilities at Oistins Bay Garden.
This multi-million dollar project was started in 2006 and completed last year through the Barbados Tourism Investment Inc. (BTI). It now boasts bigger kiosks, washroom facilities, a small office, new walkways, gazebo a new bandstand for entertainment purposes, and lockers for workers make the new facility more conducive to work.

Pelican Craft Village

Pelican Craft Village Home Of The Last Lap Craft Fair
Opened in 1999, Pelican Craft village is a cluster of workshops halfway between the Cruise Ship Terminal and downtown Bridgetown, where craftspeople create and sell "100% Barbadian-made" leather goods, batik, basketry, carvings, jewelry, glass art, paintings, pottery, and other items. It's open weekdays 9-6 and Saturday 9-2, with extended hours during holidays or to accommodate cruise-ship arrivals.

Queen's Park

Home Of The BNB Crop Over Gala
Queen's Park was established close to a hundred years ago. It occupies land bought in 1782 by General Gabriel Christie, who was then commanding the British troops in Barbados.

The following year, he then built Kings House (which was later renamed as Queen's House during Queen Victoria's reign), as a residence for future army commanders-in-chief in the region. Some time later, two additional buildings - "The Retreat" and "The Pavilion" were constructed as quarters for senior staff officers.

Sherbourne Conference Centre

The Sherbourne Conference Centre is located just outside the capital Bridgetown, in Two Mile Hill, Saint Michael.

Sir Garfield Sobers Gymnasium

Home Of The Pic-O-De Crop Semi-Finals
The Sir Garfield Sobers Sports Complex is situated in Wildey, St. Michael and was opened as a sporting facility in November 1992. The construction of the complex was part of a strategic initiative by the Government of Barbados to promote sports tourism. On April 1, 1999, Gymnasium Ltd. was incorporated as a private company, with Government as the sole shareholder under a board of directors.

Speightstown Esplanade

Home Of Back In Time Pan 2008

The redevelopment of the Speightstown Esplanade was completed in May 2006, forming part of significant improvements along the seafront of the northern city of Speightstown which included the construction of a breakwater and coastal defense structure and the reconstruction of the fish market.

Spring Garden Highway


The Spring Garden Highway is the main artery connecting Bridgetown and the West Coast. Previously most people left the National Stadium and headed there after the major events. This year those events will be held at Kensington Oval so patrons can leave the Cable & Wireless Pic-O-De-Crop Finals and join the Roberts Manufacturing Foreday Morning and when the sun rises enjoy the Mount Gay/Carib Beer Bridgetown Market.

St. Lucy's Parish Church

Home Of The Thanksgiving Service
The church was dedicated in 1629 as one of the original six churches in the Diocese of Barbados. The church was originally built of wood, but was rebuilt as a stone structure in 1741 because of repeated damage from natural disasters. The current Georgian architecture was created in 1837, built from saw stone and has a tower and a running gallery on three sides. It is the fourth building on the site.




Tyrol Cot

Tyrol Cot was the home of Sir Grantley Adams, the first premier of Barbados and the only Prime Minister of the Federation of the West Indies. The home is also the birthplace of his son, Tom, the second Prime Minister of Barbados.

The house itself was constructed in 1854 and is an architectural gem with an interesting mixture of Palladian and tropical vernacular.
