Ram and Biggie Irie release tracks early

Biggie Irie

IN MAY SOCA artistes Biggie Irie and Peter Ram released new tracks for the plethora of carnivals spread across the remainder of the year.

Biggie Irie's latest track on the Tone Def Riddim produced by Andy Armstrong is entitled Leave She Alone.

The first of two tracks by Peter Ram is called Hold Dey also on the Tone Def Riddim. His second release, De Way You Wine is on the Chrysulous Riddim. Ram says he has probably produced about 25 songs for the season, yeah we thought he was exaggerating to but he says he has worked with several producers in Trinidad and Barbados including Blood, Radar, Deepu Panjwani, King Bubba and Bubbles.

The veteran artist is looking forward to the 2010 season though he is going to miss Party Monarch on the Ermy Bourne Highway. "The East Coast was a lovely place...moving things to certain places will cut down on the number of people who would attend the event, they will have to get accustomed to it, moving 'bout, I think it going to be a little problem...but it still gun go on."

He's also not so happy about the reduced number of Cavalcades believing some of the parishes will feel left out, "I don't like that at all I feel everybody should get a fair piece."

He added: "Crop Over is we ting and we come to full joy we self, when you don't hold nuh grudge against nobody. Life is a cycle, changes come and you know some day it will go back to the normal thing. Let we deal with it for now and let we work with it and see what happen."
