The original soca junkie in fine form for 2010

Mr. Dale

TALENTED SINGER AND songwriter Mr. Dale has already released one song for this year’s Crop Over season -  Blazing, produced by Chris Allman is in rotation on the airwaves and in fetes.

We caught up with him recently at the Socaholic launch at the CBC where he told us he will also be releasing Created 4 Carnival, a sweet ragga soca on a riddim produced in Grenada and Shut Yuh Mout n Wine an up tempo number produced by King Bubba on the Faxx Machine riddim at Extreme Studios.

He has written again for Natahlee following the success of That is What We Do which secured second spot for her at the 98.1/Banks Sweet Soca Monarch and Mount Gay/Lime Party Monarch competitions last year, he has also written for MikeyTejay,Kirk Browne, Leah, Villain, Junior Monarch winner Azizia and Destra Garcia.

Dale, who’s back with the Headliners’ tent is optimistic about this year’s festival, “Change is inevitable.” he said. “We must approach it with an open mind, embrace it and constantly seek ways to improve the Crop Over product.”

He further noted: “I fully believe that we will see the return of a 20, 000 plus crowd at Bushy Park. I also strongly believe that the prize money must also “change” and be commensurate with the crowd attendance. This would definitely boost the overall standard and prestige of the competition and encourage more top-flight artistes to return.”

Mr. Dale holds several awards including the International Soca Award for Favourite Soca of 2008 with Soca Junkie.
