NY band Technic releases Crop Over tracks

Technic Band

PYRAMID ENTERTAINMENT IS reporting that Technic Band, in collaboration with Anderson Blood Armstrong have released the single Gimme Ah Whine, with Andy Hewitt on lead vocals. This new track on the NuNu Riddim is featured on Blood's " Soca Dons & Divas" Album.

The band also independently released its own Crop Over 2010 track, Whine It featuring Kevyn Allman Stuart on vocals. This single was produced by Andy Hewitt, and recorded by Tristan Allman at Methayne Studios.

The name Technic is synonymous with providing a high standard of music in the New York Area. They are continually referred as: "One of the top Caribbean Bands in the New York Area." Just mention the name "Technic" and people start to sing the chorus to their biggest song to date: Ride It.

The Band was started in 1992, by Andy Hewitt (Bass and Vocals). His love for music and desire to play in a band, prompted him to enlist his school friends, Adrian Reeves (Trumpet), and Jean Fidelia (Tenor Sax), along with his brother John Hewitt (Keyboard), to start the band.

Seeing the need for more versatility to "branch out" to other forms of Music, such as Ballads, Oldies, and Lovers Rock, Barbados' popular balladeer, Lee Grant joined the group as the band started to grow, the need for an engineer became increasingly important.

Since the band wanted a distinct sound that would differentiate them from the other bands, Technic then inducted Ronald Haynes as the Engineer for their performances.

Later, Ronny Kirton (Vocals), Kevyn Stuart (Vocals), Ronald Headley (Guitar) and Kerwin Alexander (Drums) were the last to join the band.

The band has played successful engagements in Canada, and various places in the United States such as: Florida, Boston, Philadelphia, Washington, Maryland, Atlanta, New Jersey, and Chicago. And they continue to be one of the most popular bands in the West Indian Community, in the Metropolitan New York Area.
