THE NATIONAL CULTURAL FOUNDATION (NCF) has thanked staff, stakeholders and all Barbadians who supported and participated in the just concluded 2008 Crop Over festival.
Chief Executive Officer, DeVere Browne told the media that he is pleased with this year's festival and indicated the NCF will be conducting a review of the festival in order to strengthen it. Mr. Browne told journalists assembled at the NCF headquarters that the Foundation will be looking to better reward the King and Queen of the Festival, who he considers the true unsung heroes of the festival. The CEO also indicated that promotion for the 2009 festival will be stepped up and starts with overseas West Indian festivals like Labour Day on Eastern Parkway in New York.This year's festival ends with a last lap craft fair on on Thursday, August 07 at 10:00 am at the Pelican Craft Village.
An award ceremony is slated for Saturday, August 16 at Grand Salle of the Central Bank.
