New band for Foreday Morning launched

THEY ARE ALL under the age of 25 and their aim is to enhance the spirit of Crop Over.

Toni Thorne, Rhea Mapp, Jamilya Browne and Danielle Brome and Sade Jemmott have come together to form Island Fusion a movement whose first activity is a Foreday morning band which was launched last Friday.

Toni Thorne, a member of the group believes the five young ladies have a valid contribution to make to the nation’s largest festival, “What we intend to do does not end and begin with the band,” she said, “We are targeting all age groups and despite race, nationality or status, we are offering diversity and variety…as the name suggests it is a fusion.”

Over three hundred people are expected to jump with the new band which promises tight security. “We are aware of the history of Foreday morning so that is why our security ratio is 8-1, we want to make sure the revelers are safe and enjoy themselves.”

The registration fee is BBD$120.00 which includes the costumes and free drinks on the road.

Island Fusion was launched at Weisers on the Bay which will be the home of the band fetes, which started on Sunday night.
